The battery requirements for breakaway kits essentially are that in the event of a disconnection of the switch the brakes will hold for a specific amount of time. I am sure the battery you have now that also powers a winch would have no problem with that but if you were to drain the battery by using the winch and then in an emergency scenario need to use the breakaway kit you'd be in trouble.

To install the Coach Air Kit # SM99627, you will first need to locate the supply hose. The supply air hose is usually green. It will be running from the service relay valve to the braking air tank. The line will be either 1/2" or 5/8" in diameter. I believe I see the green line in your picture so if you can just verify what the line is going to and the diameter of the line you should be able to determine which one is the supply hose. Yes, by providing 12v power directly to the brake wiring and grounding the circuit the brakes if properly adjusted and in good working condition will lock up. This is what happens if you were to pull the emergency brake away cable on your trailer brakes connection. I do caution you to be careful as if there is something wrong with the wiring it could cause further issues with supplying direct current.

You have to have a breakaway battery kit like the Curt # C52028 for the breakaway brake function on your trailer. This is one of the things that the highway patrol will actually check for to make sure that you are pulling your trailer safely.

No, the Sturgi-Warn indicator on the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS is not going to show green when on the in service bottle and red when it switches over. The Sturgi-Warn indicator is more of a fuel gauge, rather than an empty indicator. As long as there is propane flowing through the regulator, then it will give you a reading.
